Vagus Nerve

The Importance of The Vagus Nerve

The Vagus Nerve is the most complex nerve of the human body, it controls the parasympathetic nervous system directly controlling digestion, detoxification, and immunity.

The vagus nerve can go out of balance (fight of flight) after a stressful or traumatic experience.

Unfortunately it does not go back to homeostasis (rest and digest) automatically. Balancing the vagus nerve can be helpful at reducing anxiety, regulating the nerve system and helping the body to relax.

For the body to be at optimal health, it needs to be in a homeostasis state.

The vagus nerve is the “reset button” of our bodies; have you notice how some electronic devices have a reset button you press when the system has to be rebooted? yes the same concept applied to us!

Ana has amazing results regulating her clients vagus nerve.

Some things you can do to naturally balance your vagus nerve at home are:

  • Apply cold compresses to your face and the back of your neck.

  • Breathe deeply and slowly.

  • Connect with nature.

  • Diaphragmatic breathing, the slower the better.

  • Eat a whole-foods diet.
